5 Fun Things to Do in Amarillo, TX

Hello Dolls,

One of my favorite things to do is to go on a trip. Whether I'm going on a big summer trip or a quick weekend road trip, I enjoy them. 2017 has become the year of travel for me, so I'm sharing my trips with y'all. I recently went to Amarillo, TX. Check it out!

1. Palo Duro Canyo

Elkins Ranch Jeep Tours

I realize that Palo Duro Canyon is not in Amarillo, but it is only a short 45 minute drive away. I have never been on an outdoor adventure like this. This super fun jeep tour was beautiful and unforgettable. We learned a vast amount of history about the land and saw beautiful wildlife.

2. American Quarter Horse Museum

If you are a horse lover, you will definitely love this place. I don't have a horse, but I have always admired their beauty. Check out this museum and learn what makes the American Quarter Horse stand out from the crowd.

3. The Big Texan Steak Ranch

Home of the 72oz steak

This huge steak ranch was one of my favorite stops during the trip. As soon as I saw the huge yellow and blue building with a gigantic cow statue out front, I knew I was going to enjoy it. The restaurant had an adorable gift shop filled with classic Texas items. There was also a live rattlesnake, I was terrified just looking at it. I had a delicious chopped beef sandwich, but there were plenty of classic BBQ options on the menu.

4. Cadillac Ranch

This unique Amarillo landmark has been a Route 66 staple since the early 70's. These classic Cadillacs have been buried into the ground. Although this piece of artwork originally had a different look, now many visitors come and make their mark with spray paint. P.S. there is a sign stating that this is not allowed, but if you wish, let your inner rebel shine.

5. Huge Pair of Legs

This pair of legs was definitely interesting. I never would have thought that someone would create a statue of a pair of legs, then again who thinks about that? The legs are located on private land, but plenty of rebels have jumped the fence to see these crazy calfs. The artists repaints the legs every once in a while, so you may see something different on each visit.
