A Few Tips Towards Positivity

Hello Dolls,

Recently I found myself not feeling as happy and ambitious as I usually do. I started to become lazy and I found myself constantly thinking negatively. I really had to step back and evaluate why the heck I was feeling like this, because it was really starting to affect me. I had to change my mindset and daily activities because I was tired of the way I was feeling. I know sometimes we all get in icky moods or we might be going through a rough patch where we simply don't feel like ourselves. Well I'm sharing a few tips that helped me get out of my rut! I hope these will help y'all if you're feeling the same.

1.) Stop Allowing Yourself to be Stuck Where You're At

This can be so much easier said than done, especially if you're at a place in your life that you don't want to be. Instead of focusing so much on being unhappy where you're at, make a list of things to do to get out of it. Challenge yourself with a set of goals to get to your next destination. Write out each step that you need to take to achieve them. Sounds kind of tedious, I know. But this will help you see exactly what you need to do to move forward. This gives you something great to work towards!

2.) Stop Complaining

I caught myself complaining a lot recently. Guess where that got me? No where! If I catch myself complaining, I tell myself to stop and evaluate how I can turn the situation around. Now I'm not saying don't ever complain if you need to vent or get something off of your chest every now and then, but don't make a habit out of it. Constantly complaining with no plan of action isn't going to get you very far.

3.) Smile More Often

Look at yourself in the mirror and smile doll. You are beautiful, seriously you know you are! Smile at a stranger, wave or tell them hi. Smile even if you don't feel like.

4.) Stop Being Around Negative People

If someone is constantly draining your energy or they are always being negative and complaining, stop being around them. If they aren't contributing positivity to your life or they make you feel bad in anyway, stop giving them attention. This can obviously be easier said than done. If this is hard for you, start out slowly and draw your limits. Limit your time around them and talk to them about how their actions make your feel or simply let them know that you need your space. If you have to work with this person- be cordial, don't lose those coins doll! If this is someone you really weren't close to, cut them out of your life.

5.) Keep A Journal

Write it all out. Sometimes we can't express what we want to say and sometimes we just need to vent. What you write there is completely up to you, they're your thoughts. This doesn't necessarily have to be a daily thing, just whenever you feel like it.

6.) Do What Makes You Happy

I found myself not feeling as happy earlier this year and I had to ask myself why. Well, I wasn't doing the little things that made me happy. I wasn't crafting, I had stopped watching my favorite movies randomly and watching my favorite YouTubers. I had even stopped giving myself mini spa days. I know it may sound silly, but doing those little things brought me joy. I started doing them again and began feeling happier. So dolls, do what makes you happy, no matter how small or how silly.

7.) Read Positive Quotes

This has helped me a lot. You know those motivational Instagram pages and Pinterest boards? Follow them. Read a positive quote every morning and night. I'll usually look something up pertaining to a goal I'm striving to achieve, the way that I'm feeling or the mood that I'm in. I'll also set a positive quote or Bible verse as my phone background, since I'm always looking at it anyway.

8.) Spend Time with Those You Love

I can't say this one enough. Spend time with the people who you care about and those who value you. It's important that you're around positive vibes and positive people. Grab brunch, go to a museum or an arcade. Go out and have a drink, go dancing. Stay home and have a movie night, whatever you choose to do, have fun with it! Being around people who care about you and support you will help to change your mood around.

Keep in mind y'all that these are things that have helped me personally. If they don't work for you, that's okay. Find something that will bring your joy. Working towards being more positive can be easier said than done. Take it one step at a time, one day at a time.
